drew this as a baby shower present for my friend, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) lkemp.
her request was an image of her then pregnant self as a fairy, with pink and purple wings. i finished the sketch at the shower, but i didn't get it done, however until a few weeks ago, as the gang got together for a cabin trip on the river. for awhile, i had though i had ruined the image when i started inking (outlines wwaaaayyyyy too thick).
leslie, if you want to use the art to make an lj icon, etc, consider this permission to do so. thanks again for scanning it for me. i hope you and macphile enjoy the art and the baby is adorable! much <3s to you both.
wow, i've been MIA! have tons of frakking stuff to post. will do so a little at a time.

MegaCon Commission for mattdocmartin

i managed to sell quite a few of the custom art cards this time. 8^) real happy about that.
i got photos of all, but i think the lighting wasn't so hot and some of the photos blurred.
will post them later.
MegaCon this year was so much cooler than last year and quite a lot has happened. This was a big one for me.

wished the marker lines didn't show up so much in the background, but what can you do? *shrugs* the colorless blender wasn't much help here.
originally, i was going to have her flip the viewer the bird, but the hand refused to be drawn. I compromised and now she flips us off, British style.

was hanging with the ladiez when i decided to sketch a bit. above is the result. i have discovered in scanning this image that the copic color "cool shadow" is a lot like non-photo blue: it really doesn't reproduce very well. i can't see it at all in the scan. 8^( ah, well. *shrugs* |

back in the fall, i overheard hillarygayle, starry_midnight and mustangtracy talking about chemistry homework. they kept saying something about "converting to moles" before working the equations...0.o and this is what my mind produced.

oh! congrats to wayfarersgirl - check this out! she and her sisters have several gigs this week. break a leg, ya'll! 8^)
and speaking of harry potter, i've volunteered to help out at the local b&n potter party. they've asked me to do face painting. now i must to find face paint! 0.o so far, hobby lobby has been a bust. boo.
not for sure if the acrylics i have would work. i know very well that my watercolors won't and i don't want something that would stain or cause angry parentage. that would suck.
most of my art so far has been in my altered book. will post that soon.
and lastly, end of the month i'll be moving out of dad's! i'll be sharing an apartment with jocelyncee's sis, becca. very excited about this. however, i'm scrambling to make sure i have enough for deposits, first months rent and payin' my current bills! *out of breath* |

My first return customer, she and her husband brought their little dachund this year. what a cutie! They were such sweet, sweet people and yet i keep forgetting to ask names!

Tim (or was it madscott?) had a spiffy idea to sketch on preformated frames with the nightgig address. we all sat around saturday night after the con and sketched and drew. it was a blast.

just finished a belated gift for the wedding of my friend, hilary w., to basil h. i actually took my sketchbook to the ceremony to get the details on the dress right. tacky, i know, but right now i don't care. debating on whether to frame it or not...
i think i lost some of the likenesses when i inked the drawing. *shrugs* i kept the original pencils, so they can have that if they like it better.

The lady, or as some would refer to her, "a soiled dove," is Clementime Harvey, one of the outlaws i'm developing for Renegade 10. i strove to make her, well, more plump like a women of this time frame would be, and for a challenge. i'm afraid all the characters i've greated thus far have had about the same body.
where i came up with the pink and purple color scheme, i dunno.
I need more practice drawing guns and hands, i positively suck at them for the moment.
i'd better get good at guns, and hats and horses and cattle if i'm going to do this western comic idea o' mine. any one know where i can get photo reference for such things without payin' an arm and a leg?

been missing him a lot but today hit me hard. eventually, i got out of the house. i think after staying wednesday and thursday night alone, without any plans to go visit a friend of do something, made me crack a bit. i'm still not ok, but i'll live. the art is helping. but i think a bunch of the grief is turning into some anger. i just don't know...
i have a feeling i'll be crying again before i go to sleep. reading helped take my mind off of it some today, before i got out of the apartment, but i feel like i'm running from the issue instead of facing it every time i distract myself. sometimes, i just need to let myself cry. |

visited jocelyncee over the weekend. her sister threw her a bridal shower so i had to go. she and her fiance, joel, have been trying to get me to lawrence for quite awhile and showed me around town. very spiffy.
on sunday, they took me to their favorite coffeehouse, la prima tazza, and hung with the morning regulars. great times and try the iced morrocan. very nummy! while sitting outside with the gang, i got my sketchbook out to draw the above sketch. the store next door had this painted sign with wrought iron. i'm guessing that FreeState beers must be a local brand, i wouldn't know since i don't drink beer, but i loved the sign.

Matilda Mayes, a.k.a. Virginia Dann, reporter extraordinaire from Renegade 10, which is still in development. i was playing with my latest birthday present (thanks, dad!) and i lurf them muchly. they wouldn've been here earlier, but the place we ordered them from had them on back order 'til june 9. oh well. better late than never. 8^)
btw-thanks to divalea for suggesting copics to me. you were right; they are the spiffy.
